Please contact us prior to attending a training session. We will have beginner equipment available. Beginners usually start with a wooden sword prior to purchasing a iaito.

Iaido uses the kyu and dan system. Beginners are mukyu/mudan in the beginning as they have no rank. Beginners start testing first in kyu levels and gradually advance into dan levels.  Kyu starts from 10 all the way to 1. Dan starts at 1 and ends at 10.
